Terms of Service

1. Service Diagnostics & Call-Out Fees

By booking a service, you agree to the non-refundable diagnostic call-out fee associated with your service area. This fee covers the travel and expert technical assessment of your appliance.

  • Core Service Area ($100): Victoria (Downtown), Langford, Colwood, View Royal.
  • Extended Service Area ($130): Bear Mountain, Oak Bay, North Saanich, Uplands.
  • Premium/After-Hours ($150): Weekend and emergency service across all Greater Victoria areas.

2. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We value our technicians' time and our clients' schedules. A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for any cancellation or rescheduling of a confirmed appointment.

  • Wasted Time Fee: Failure to provide 24 hours' notice or a 'no-show' at the time of the scheduled visit will result in a $20 service fee.

3. The Protection Protocol

Great Choice Appliance Repairs Ltd. maintains a superior standard of care for every residence. We utilize drop-sheets and specialized floor protection on every job, regardless of appliance type. Clients must ensure the service area is accessible and clear of personal items prior to the technician's arrival.

4. Scope of Service

Our technicians are equipped to handle all residential and commercial repairs, ranging from standard household laundry and kitchen appliances to specialized luxury installations and sealed refrigeration systems. We reserve the right to refuse service for units that have been tampered with or pose an immediate safety risk.

5. Estimates, Parts & Payments

Diagnostic fees are due at the conclusion of the initial visit. For standard residential jobs, we collect full payment immediately upon the completion of the work. Property Management accounts are granted a 30-day grace period from the invoice date.

  • Parts Procurement: A 50% deposit of the total quoted amount is required to order specialized components.
  • Final Balance: Due immediately upon installation (Standard) or within 30 days (Property Management).
  • Payment Requirement: Payments are collected on-site via credit card, Interac e-Transfer, or mobile payment.

6. Late Fees & Collection Protocol

To cover administrative costs and dispatching, we strictly enforce the following late payment penalties. We do not charge interest; instead, a recurring fixed fee is applied to all overdue balances:

  • Weekly Late Fee: A $20.00 fee will be added to the invoice for every week the balance remains unpaid beyond the due date.
  • Standard Clients: The weekly $20.00 fee begins if payment is not received within 24 hours of service.
  • Property Management: The weekly $20.00 fee begins if payment is not received within 30 days of the invoice date.
  • Physical Collection Fee: If a technician must travel to a residence to collect a past-due balance in person, a $50.00 Travel & Dispatch fee will be added to the total.

7. Expansion & Regional Terms

While we are currently based in Victoria, these terms apply to all current and future service areas including planned expansions into the Lower Mainland (Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby).

8. Liability

Great Choice Appliance Repairs Ltd. is not responsible for pre-existing structural issues, plumbing failures unrelated to the specific repair, or secondary failures of aged components not identified or replaced during the primary service call.

By submitting a service request via our digital portal or booking an appointment via phone, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service in full.
